Anthony Glassman Shares Insight With Media Law Leaders About Suing The Press

Senior Counsel Anthony Glassman was one of three plaintiffs defamation lawyers in the country chosen to speak on a panel discussing “What the lawyers who sue the press think about the press and media law,” hosted by the Media Law Resource Center (“MLRC”) and moderated by Jonathan Peters, who teaches at the University of Georgia’s School of Law and College of Journalism and Mass Communication.  In attendance was George Freeman, former New York Times inhouse counsel and the current executive director of the MLRC.  In Mr. Freeman’s opening remarks he noted that the “worst defeat” during his tenure at the New York Times was in a case tried by Mr. Glassman, who at the same time in his career was also defending The Globe against defamation claims.  Approximately 120 media lawyers from around the country attended via Zoom.  Attorneys and Bergeson, LLP clients may request to review the event by contacting Rebecca Kaufman.
