Bergeson Affiliated Counsel Anthony Glassman Helps Skechers Step Up Its Defense
Skechers has hired Bergeson Affiliated Counsel Anthony Glassman to help fight claims that advertising for its Shape-ups toning shoe line violates California law by falsely touting health benefits from wearing the shoes. A study by the American Council on Exercise claims that, contrary to representations by Skechers, the shoes do not help wearers tone muscles or burn more calories. Skechers has launched a counterattack to thwart the study, including launching its own website, www.toningshoestudies.com, featuring seven alternative studies on rounded-sole shoes.
