Bergeson, LLP Of Counsel John D. Pernick is featured in the January 2015 issue of California Lawyer Magazine. Mr. Pernick joins the magazine’s 2015 Securities Roundtable and discusses recent developments in securities law, including how courts have approached class certification in securities class actions following the Supreme Court’s 2014 ruling in Halliburton v. Erica P. John Fund and the implications of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s decision to bring more enforcement claims as administrative proceedings rather than court cases. In addition to the Halliburton ruling, the roundtable also discussed the recent Delaware Supreme Court decision in APT Tour, Inc. v. Deutscher Tennis Bund and how it affects fee shifting in securities litigation. The roundtable was comprised of five attorneys and was moderated by Cherree Peterson.
