Bergeson, LLP Welcomes Litigator D.J. Murphy to the Firm

Bergeson, LLP is pleased to announce that D.J. Murphy has joined the firm as an associate in its litigation practice. D.J. brings extensive experience representing clients in complex commercial and class action litigation in both state and federal courts. His practice includes defending clients in securities class actions, shareholder disputes, merger and acquisition litigation, qui tam lawsuits under the False Claims Act, contract disputes, and unfair competition and consumer fraud matters.

D.J. has represented companies, directors, officers, and individuals in high-stakes government investigations and enforcement proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and other regulatory authorities. He also advises companies, audit committees, and similar bodies in internal investigations.

With experience spanning all phases of litigation—from pre-lawsuit resolution to trial—D.J. has achieved notable results for clients across industries including banking, technology, fintech, artificial intelligence, crypto, retail, and consumer products. His representative matters include securing a complete defense verdict in a shareholder derivative suit, obtaining a dismissal in a securities class action, and successfully resolving complex contract disputes for venture capital clients.

Committed to service beyond his practice, D.J. has maintained an active pro bono practice, representing clients in asylum proceedings and veterans seeking relief before the Army Discharge Review Board. He is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers – Northern California and the Bar Association of San Francisco.
