Bergeson Obtains Disability Award For Vietnam War Veteran

Senior Counsel Adam C. Trigg prevailed in obtaining disability benefits from the United States Department of Veteran Affairs on behalf of his pro bono client who served in the Vietnam War.  Mr. Trigg’s client served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and participated in the evacuation of Saigon known as “Operation Frequent Wind.”  Since returning from Vietnam, he experienced severe symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, which kept him from maintaining steady employment.  After the VA denied the initial application, Mr. Trigg was successful in having the case reopened and reconsidered based on new evidence that demonstrated that the client’s PTSD is connected to his military service.  The VA ultimately agreed and awarded the client past and future disability benefits.
